WOW NICK!! Awesome thoughts!

*The Hatch*

I think you are spot on with the hatch and time travel! That makes so much sense... If the island goes back in time, then there would be no way to automate the process of entering in the numbers.

ALSO, I remember thinking that when they made contact with the outside world, they found out that not as much time had passed on the outside world as on the island!! You picked it I think.

Maybe, entering the numbers in the hatch was a way of avoiding the incident actually happening. So when they crashed onto the island, the island was still back in the 70's before the incident? Then by not pressing the numbers they caused the incident, and had to go back to fix it?

*Through the looking glass* was the name of an episode a few seasons ago - actually, isn't the name for a darma station too?

Also I looked up the cats that Jack was talking to his son about from the Alice in Wonderland book. They are Alice's pet kittens, one white and one black. They are in the sequel to Alice in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass, where Alice dreams she is sucked through a mirror. The dream is caused by the black kitten. This made me think of the black and white rocks that were with the bodies in the cave, and of Jacob and Anti-Jacob on the beach wearing black and white t-shirts.

Also, in Jacks flashes yesterday his dad featured heavily in the photographs. He was wearing only white suits and Jack was wearing only black suits. I noticed this because the white suits look ridiculous. I haven't checked but I bet you he was buried in a white suit as well.

Not only that but the episodes in season six so far mirror season one episodes (ep.3 about Kate, ep.4 about Locke). Episode 5 of season one was called White Rabbit and was about Jack chasing his dads body around the island, with flashes of his daddy issues. Jack found keys hidden under a white rabbit on the porch in the flashes yesterday and they were about his relationship with his son.

The Alice in Wonderland references are probably just nerdy hidden cool-things, however I do think there is something important about the black/white imagery and not just because of the stones and the t-shirts. I haven't ruled Christian out as being on Team Jacob yet. There was a time I thought he was Smoke monster, but it seems that Claire sees through Smokeys disguise because last night she said something to Jin like- "its not John, its my friend". This was a reference to earlier in when she said to him (about who told her the Others took Aaron)- "My father told me and my friend told me". If she stated that her father and friend were two different people, and she could see her smokey-friend through his Locke-disguise then it stands to reason that Christian is Smokey.

Also the mirror-thing is circulating in my mind because Jack is having deja-vu moments in front of mirrors. Maybe they are a way of connecting with the other reality, and Jacob transported off the island through the mirrors. If that is the case maybe Jacob wanted them broken so smokey-Locke couldn't use them to teleport. Then again, maybe he just wanted Jack to see his old house through the mirror.

Good thoughts mate, its been good discussing theories the last few weeks.

The last two episodes have been epic and there are so many details its crazy.

I agree with a lot of your thoughts. As I read your blog and as I watched last nights episode again a few extra things occurred to me.

The Lost Numbers & the flashes & destiny-

When Desmond used to enter them into the computer they would reset. Maybe a side affect of avoiding the catastrophic electro-magnetic disaster is that time would reset every 108 minutes, causing Desmond to be living that same 108 minutes over and over. This is much the same as Julia blowing the bomb where the hatch was being built over the electromagnetic thingy reset time. We already know that Des has crazy time skipping in which he needs his constant, Penny, to help him live a normal life.

108 degrees on the lighthouse compass is the name "Wallace". Although it is crossed out Jacob said he was trying to get to the island and that Hurley and Jack needed to help him. Wallace is a Scottish sounding surname, which seems like the country Desmond is from. I don't know why, but I think that Desmond is 108/Wallace. After all he already had a bit of an affinity with the number during his hatch-time. Maybe the island is calling him back.

Desmonds time-skipping syndrome would serve the island/universe well. I am thinking about how the universe corrected itself every time Charlie cheated death (with Desmonds help). Maybe universe is trying to correct itself by converging the two time lines together and Desmond is supposed to help the survivors cheat it. Perhaps by punching in the numbers and dealing with the electromagnetic-poofight he was causing a time loop which prevented the plane crash. We know when he failed to punch them in he caused the plane to crash. Perhaps he needs to prevent the two realities from converging by causing another time-loop and avoiding some bigger disaster.

Not sure about that actually, because it seems a bit far fetched. However I do think that Desmond will be candidate-108/Wallace.
